Debut Novel

Author K.P. Aubrys

Chains is the opening novel in The Fading Light Saga, an immersive epic fantasy series shaped by loyalty, fractured kingdoms, and the quiet strength of family. In a realm where faith and power collide, alliances are tested, truths are buried, and the bonds that protect may also become the chains that bind. Years in the making and now entering professional editing, this is only the beginning.

About Me

K.P. Aubrys

An Author and Artist

I’ve wanted to be an author since I was seven years old.
I grew up devouring books — thousands of them — losing myself in epic worlds shaped by writers like Robert Jordan and J.R.R. Tolkien. More recently, I’ve fallen into the intensity and emotional depth of romantasy, especially the work of Sarah J. Maas. Those stories didn’t just entertain me. They shaped me. They taught me that fantasy can carry weight, faith, grief, love, and legacy all at once.
I grew up in Indianapolis and now live in Chicago with my husband and our three teenage children, each creative in their own way — from visual art, to coding, to writing. Creativity isn’t just something I do. It’s something our family breathes.
The Fading Light Saga began when I was in undergrad. It started as late-night writing sessions and daydreams scribbled between classes. When a computer crash erased most of the manuscript, I thought I had lost it for good.
But some stories don’t let go.
Nearly twenty years later, I dug it back out and began rebuilding it — stronger, deeper, more layered than before. What began as a dream became a 94-chapter epic fantasy now in editing.
I didn’t write this story quietly.
I wrote it to share.

This is only the beginning of their journey. Several more books are planned in this series before I step into the next world.
