About Me
K.P. Aubrys

Debut Novelist and Epic Fantasy Author

I have always loved reading. From the time I was young, I devoured stories by the thousands, losing myself in worlds far larger than my own. Writing, in many ways, came just as naturally. When I finally gave this story the time and space it deserved, it didn’t trickle out — it poured.
I was deeply shaped by the sweeping scope of Robert Jordan and J.R.R. Tolkien — the kind of epic fantasy that builds entire histories, cultures, and legacies across thousands of pages. Their worlds taught me patience in storytelling and the power of long arcs that allow characters to grow, fracture, and endure. In recent years, I’ve also been drawn to the modern evolution of the genre, particularly romantasy, where emotional intensity and character-driven relationships stand at the forefront. Writers like Sarah J. Maas have inspired me to embrace both the epic scale and the intimate stakes that make fantasy feel immediate and alive.

The Fading Light Saga - Chains

The bonds that hold a kingdom together may be the only hope left to save its magic.

The earth is trembling — and no one knows why.
Still haunted by his father’s unsolved murder, Braedan Meswick leaves home in search of answers, taking work at the remote Bloodlight Mine hidden deep within the enchanted southern forests of Alerion. The forest is old. Warded. Avoided for good reason — a place where secrets are meant to stay buried.
Braedan expects hard labor and isolation.
Instead, he finds silence where there should be voices. Records that don’t align. And a history the mine’s masters refuse to name.
Far above, the royal family prepares for celebration, unaware that something is shifting beneath their kingdom. Across Alerion, the ground quakes, messages fall silent, and long-buried truths begin clawing their way to the surface.
As Braedan follows the threads left behind by the dead, he discovers his father’s murder was never an isolated crime — and that the forces at work beneath the kingdom reach far deeper than he imagined.
Some secrets were buried to protect the world.
Others were buried to control it.
Uncovering them may cost more than any of them are prepared to lose.
