Aurora

Character

Species: Toad Age: 1 Coloration: Blue-green Relationship: Theodore's girlfriend Aurora is a blue-green toad and Theodore's girlfriend. She appears curious and more interested in the comforts of the human world than Theodore, particularly after hearing Corvus talk about television. While Theodore prefers staying outside “where the bugs are,” Aurora has expressed interest in coming inside to watch TV. Very little is currently known about Aurora, though her curiosity suggests there may be more to her than initially meets the eye. As the story unfolds, more of her personality, history, and relationship with Theodore may come to light.

Cedar Briar

Species: Fae Age: 210 Relationship: Seraphina's husband; father of Taryn, Iris, and Cora Cedar Briar is Iris's father. Warm, grounded, and easygoing, he genuinely loves his family but has a playful side that frequently undermines Seraphina's attempts at serious parental conversations. He is well liked wherever he goes, with a reputation for being someone people naturally enjoy having around. Although Cedar is 210 years old, he appears to be in his late thirties at most. He is strikingly handsome, but his most defining quality is his kindness. Warmth and compassion seem to radiate from him, making him a steady and comforting presence to those around him. Cedar loves spending time outdoors, particularly fishing, and is happiest when he can get out into nature. He also has a particular weakness for anything Iris cooks for him, especially her beef vegetable soup. He has even been known to wish her goodnight before heading outside to spend the night in the trees.

Taryn is engaged to Elara Pike, his chosen mate. Their relationship is based on mutual love and choice rather than a fated-mate bond, and their happy relationship is one of the examples that has helped Iris's parents believe love does not have to be dictated by destiny to be lasting and genuine.
